PIXOMONDO and Virtual Production Academy partnered with the Directors Guild of Canada – National and Directors Guild of Canada – Ontario on a Virtual Production Workshop.
Eight Canadian filmmakers – who’d never worked in Virtual Production prior – were selected to write and direct an original short film set against their choice of two different background assets created by PIXOMONDO and Virtual Production Academy – a medieval castle setting and a park in Paris.
The production – shot on PIXOMONDO and William F. White International Inc. Toronto VP stage – was fully supported and staffed by all the Canadian entertainment Guilds and IATSE groups, whose cinematographers, production designers, set decorators, hair/makeup/wardrobe personnel and actors all wanted the chance to try out their craft in this new technological sandbox.
Watch the video below to see how this project came together and what all the key players had to say about their wild weekend playing around in this new medium that is fast becoming the norm in the film and television industry.
